I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford. In July 2020, I will be beginning a new position as Associate Professor in Conservation Biology, also at the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford, and Tutorial Fellow with Balliol College. I hold Adjunct Research Fellow positions at the Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions at the University of Queensland, and at the UWA School of Agriculture and the Oceans Institute at the University of Western Australia.
My research concerns optimal use of natural resources to maximise the productivity of ecological and social systems. My work combines bio-economic and demographic modelling, non-market valuation and optimisation approaches. My topical interests include human-wildlife conflict, assessing marine use and non-use values, spatial marine management, and theoretical work exploring how to treat choice-consistency in discrete choice experiment analysis.
